CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS:
THE HAPPENING ARTSPARK 2019 ART GRANT THROW DOWN
Be 1 of 9 artists to compete in The HAPPENING ARTSPARK 2019 ART GRANT THROW DOWN at our Park Party on June 1, 2019, 4pm-6pm at Parkdale Park, 366 Parkdale Avenue, Ottawa
Basically anything goes — paint, sketch, assemble, print, sculpt — whatever your specialty is! Showcase your talent for the chance to win a grant and have some fun!
There is a 30-minute time limit but NO set medium to work and NO theme. Do what YOU do best and highlight the diversity within the visual arts community in the city. There will be 3 rounds: one winner will be chosen by ballot, by the public, each round. The winning piece from each round will be entered to compete in the 4th and final round. The winner of the 4th and final round will receive one of the art grants from The Happening Artspark worth $250 as well as a $250 gift certificate for Wallack’s Art Supplies! Each piece will be sold live via auction with 100% going to the artists. Any unsold works will be the responsibility of the artist to take home.
Each artist will be reimbursed $20 at the event in exchange for bringing/purchasing whatever you need to create your art piece (including easel, paint, brushes, etc.; there will be water on site).
To apply, email firstname.lastname@example.org by April 19th 2019 and put ART THROW DOWN in the subject line.
Please include a link to your website or samples of your work and a brief description of what you plan to create. We want variety of mediums to celebrate the diverse visual art scene in Ottawa so please share this with your contacts. We look forward to seeing your Happening proposals!
