Unveiling: Tying Our Community Together, 2016 Happening Permanent Art Grant Installation
Join us for the unveiling of "Tying Our Community Together" by local artist Daniel Martelock at the Ottawa Bagelshop and Deli. The 2016 Happening Art Grant funded the creation and installation of this large wood panel in the shape of Wellington West. Its string art reveals a heart where the heart of the community, the Ottawa Bagelshop and Deli, is located. Be there at 5pm for the unveiling and stay to make your own string heart from 5pm-6:30pm. $10 for the supplies which includes a free bagel to take home or eat while you art! Free Event

Interactive Theatre: Bread
It’s Seth and Ruby’s last day in the neighbourhood before they move away. Forever. They've invited some of their best friends into their makeshift kitchen to share their love of bread making. So roll up your sleeves, put on an apron, and get ready to bake! A 20-minute interactive theatre piece where the audience makes a small loaf of bread. This presentation of bread by THUNK! theatre is part of AOE Arts Council’s Neighbourhood Arts 150, an official Canada 150 and Ontario 150 community-engaged arts project. Free, but space is limited. Live Music: Sparklesaurus + Potential Red
Sparklesaurus plays at The Record Centre with their original living room dreampop mixed on high, baked in the oven at 375, and then sprinkled with a cup of dirt and confetti. Their sound pairs the emotional rawness of garage with lush tonalities of glam, and it will wash over you like a glitter wave.
